earthy sounds

a heavy, clink-edged, thud
the bovine tearing of tussock grass -
digging brambles with a mattock

    I know this sound, and you bring it back so clearly in this poem. I hear the familiar tearing of grass by the cow, and the thud of its hoof/hooves as it shifts its weight while grazing. Beautiful. Thank you.
